Abstract :
The phase variation characteristics of emissions radiated from telecommunication equipment were examined to determine how much the radiated emission will increase when the number of devices or their size increases. Simulation using an extrapolation model in which the devices are represented as wave sources expressed as current sources (whose phase varied randomly) showed that the characteristics are close to a power sum. Experiments showed that the harmonics of radiated emissions from actual equipment had large phase variations. The experimental results were close to the calculated ones. The radiated emission strength of large-scale telecommunication equipment can be estimated from the emission strength of a single device
