Abstract
Model optimization is a commonly used method in reverse engineering and other aspects. Triangle mesh subdivision is one of them, which is used in many fields from computer vision to virtual reality. In this paper, linear subdivision and loop subdivision are included. Linear subdivision has a perfect result because of its interpolation subdivision algorithm but slow speed compared with other subdivision algorithms. In many cases, the image may be not meet visual effect, so local subdivision is the key point by linear subdivision in this paper and will not take so much memory space, and loop subdivision is generally an approach algorithm, which can´t get a model similar with original. Here it shows the comparison between loop subdivision and linear subdivision. Through the experiment, it has got a perfect result.
