Abstract :
Applying an improved version of rigorously coupled multi-strip method (RCMS), presented in the work of Collin (1996), for a transverse slit in microstrip lines enables us to find more accurate s-parameters of the structure than those obtained using traditional quasi-TEM methods. This method also can be used to get to the longitudinal current distribution across the strip width, which can not be obtained using traditional quasi-TEM methods. In this approach the strip has been divided into longitudinally uniform and nonuniform narrower strips. To calculate the s-parameters of the two-port network, the slit is regarded as a two asymmetrical steps cascaded by an ordinary transmission line which it´s length is equal to the width of the slit. The method has been validated through both full wave and the equivalent circuit of transverse slit given in the literature (Pozar, 1990)
