Abstract :
Solving the main problems of the disconnect between computer application talent cultivation and real world marketplace demands and the existing deficiency in engineering and innovation ability of higher education programs. This paper gives an analysis of current engineering programs, the reengineering effort of computer engineering programs and the CDIO Model, describes a new refined program based on applying CDIO principles to existing computer engineering program. Through studying the objectives and approaches of how to cultivate the ability of computer engineers, a new curriculum model based on CDIO will be constructed. A layered and multi-module systematic framework for engineering practice will be applied and the implementation plan will be based on actual conditions and a progressive deployment will be utilized. Lastly, the non-traditional methods of learning evaluation will be discussed in accordance to the basic requirements of the CDIO syllabus.
