Abstract :
A CDMA scheme that uses direct-sequence spread-spectrum has many special properties, so it is regarded as a potential multiple access technique for use in digital mobile cellular systems. The average bit error rate (BER) for a direct-sequence code division multiple access (CDMA) system is evaluated over multipath fading channel. A discrete multipath fading channel with a number of paths, each of which has a specific fading distribution is used. Both maximal ratio combining (MRC) and equal gain combining (EGC) reception are concerned. The influence of the various channel parameters on the BER performance is examined
