  • Abstract
With the fast development of globalization of containerized liner shipping, and the period of large-scale vessels in the international shipping market, the joint service and synergy management for the containerized liner shipping have become important. This paper applies the synergy theory to joint-service system of containerized liner shipping, which may enrich the researching means for joint service of liner shipping enterprises. According to synergy theory, this paper studies synergy evolution mechanism of the liner joint-service shipping system, and analyzes the characteristics of the system. The results obtained demonstrate that the joint-service system consists of cooperative enterprises, and cooperative members complete their task of carriage of goods together; profitability is the order parameter, arising from the interaction of the enterprises; and with the function of the order parameter, the core competence of the enterprises forms, which thus ultimately predominates and promotes the development of slow relaxation parameters, such as liner shipping service level, and liner enterprises´ scale. This paper focuses on the theory as well as the business practice. So the theory and analysis methods maybe provide decision- making and research tool for strategic planning and management of joint-service mode of liner shipping.
