Abstract :
This paper proposes a novel current-fed resonant converter which can be directly controlled "on" and "off" using an external signal. Because no special start-up and shut-down equipment is required, the converter demonstrates an economical and reliable solution for contactless coalmining battery charging applications where the pulse charging control can be implemented at the primary side of the system. The simulation and experimental results of a laboratory prototype are presented to verify the design concepts.
