Abstract
Due to the aspect dependence of high resolution range profiles (HRRPs), traditional radar HRRPs target identification (ID) methods usually use averaged or weighted HRRPs as an aspect template. A major shortcoming is that HRRPs cannot provide information about target´s cross-range. In this study, we present an application of statistics method on complex radar targets. The enhanced HRRPs extracted by this method were used in radar target identification. It is shown from simulation results that identification performance can be improved greatly by using the enhanced HRRPs features combined with a two-stage fuzzy classifier.
