Abstract
An efficient canonical-grid (ECG) method for wave scattering from perfectly conducting random rough surfaces is proposed. In this new method, the Taylor series expansion of the Green´s function about a flat horizontal surface is replaced by interpolating polynomials using zeros of Chebychev polynomials as interpolation points. The convergence rate of the Chebychev interpolating polynomials is more rapid than that of Taylor series expansion, which extends the applicability of the standard canonical-grid (SCG) method to rougher surfaces.
