Abstract :
This paper investigates and undertakes simulation-based comparison of on-demand routing protocols in multi ad hoc networks. First, it investigates the factors affecting the performance criteria and working architecture of ad hoc on-demand distance vector (AODV) and optimized link state routing protocol (OLSR). Second, it considers proposing a scenario of multi ad hoc network domains and their inter-communication using above two routing protocols separately in fixed and mobile wireless ad hoc accordingly. The simulation results show that throughput for OLSR is 10% higher than AODV and delay in OLSR is 70% lower in a non-mobile environment. However, mobility impacts the link state routing protocol performance, it degrades the OLSR throughput and delay 5 times as compare to AODV
