Abstract
A matrix converter is a direct power conversion apparatus that converts three-phase AC voltages to variable-voltage variable-frequency three-phase outputs. An auxiliary resonant commutated pole matrix converter (ARCPMC) was proposed to decrease the switching loss using soft switching technique. In this paper, a current control type soft switching operation of the ARCP matrix rectifier is described and it´s experimental results are presented. A voltage control type ARCP matrix rectifier, which can be applied for AC/AC conversion, is also proposed
