  • Abstract
While indoor wireless mobile networks require quite a few access points, the electric power distribution network inside a building is pervasive. A power cable is leaky and lossy at higher frequencies, but it can be used as a transmission line and as an antenna for extending last few metres or circumventing blind spots and dead corners of a wireless link between a mobile device and an access point. The characteristic impedance and attenuation constant of power cable at 2.4 GHz are analysed and measured.
