Abstract :
In this paper, a compact printed antennas with a band-stop characteristic for ultra-wideband application are proposed. The dual-oval shape is introduced to reduce the size of the dimension, thus make it more compact. In order to increase the impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna, a partial ground and circular slot are used. By attaching an inverted Y-shaped open-circuited stub in the circular ring, the band-stop characteristic is obtained. The antenna satisfies the Voltage-Standing Wave Ratio requirement of less than 2.0 and show an omni-directional radiation pattern similar to that of a monopole antenna.
