  • Abstract
With more than 300 audio recitations of the Holy Quran available for free on the internet, there is an increasing need for an automated delimiter that can extract the verses from the audio files, thus enabling the creation of hundreds of applications. Using the open source Sphinx framework as the basis of our research, we have developed an Automatic Speech Recognizer (ASR) for the Arabic language, it was then extended to take into account the specialties of the recitation of the holy Quran. The system developed showed promising results and could be used as the basis of a more evolved delimiter
