  • Abstract
    The arterial vessel stiffness is one of the major factors to determine the vascular health, and only can be measured in the professional institutions. We propose an image processing workflow to analyze the common carotid artery (CCA) ultrasound (US) image series collected from a portable US scanner. The temporal variability of CCA lumen is quantified by approximate entropy. Its reproducibility under different data-dependent variables is also studied. In the future such technique can be integrated into mobile devices equipped with US probes, and become easily accessible to the general public.
