Abstract
This paper describes the modelling and simulation of a thermal power plant and applications of dynamic simulation. An approach of dynamic simulation based on MATLAB and SIMULINK is presented. In order to simulate on a wide operation range, a nonlinear simulation model based on first principles is developed. An optimal startup schedule is obtained by using dynamic simulation and optimization. And a parameter tuning method using iterative simulations is presented.
