Abstract :
This paper presents an analysis of a high frequency induction cooker, using a half-bridge series resonant inverter. The circuit operation is first analyzed, using the Thevenin short-open circuit method, in order to develop an equivalent circuit of simple RLC series connection. Then, by this simplified circuit, voltage and current equations with their spectra can be easily obtained and consequently leading to the calculation of various electrical quantities, which are also verified by experiment, using a prototype cooker of 2 kW 30 kHz with variable power and variable frequency. This cooker also shows that at the same power level of 1.5 kW, its boiling performance is faster than that of the conventional one, 5 and 10 minutes, respectively
