Abstract
This paper presents a novel approach on how to rectify the distorted images from curled surface and images captured by digital cameras at an angle. Based on geometry of differential and projection as well as the theory of imaging optics, a robust and fast rectification approach is proposed for the restoration of camera images of planar and curled document. In this paper, we deal with the restoration of the camera documents where text lies over curled surface and mark images which were received from the scene or taken deliberately at an angle out of proper perspective. With the advantages of digital photography and MATLAB, it is now possible to achieve maximum quality after rectifying the camera images. The proposed method needs no auxiliary device. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the feasibility and the application of the method.
