Abstract :
This paper introduces a fully integrated VCO working at 1.7 GHz, manufactured on 0.8 um BiCMOS technology with ft=12 GHz. It consists of on-chip spirals, a differential cross coupled Colpitts oscillator core and a level controller circuitry. The measured phase noise of the VCO at 5 MHz apart from the carrier was -133 dBc
