Abstract :
This paper presents an FPGA-based environment for the design, implementation and evaluation of systems aimed at the direct digital synthesis (DDS) of sinusoidal waveforms. The environment consists of an FPGA-based implementation platform and a software tool which allows the characteristics and performance of DDS systems to be evaluated, both before and after their implementation. The experimental results obtained demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed environment and its capabilities for design, validation and practical implementation purposes.
