Abstract :
A time-domain technique for the solution of arbitrary Nonuniform Multiconductor Transmission Lines (NMTL) is presented. The technique is based on a weak formulation of the NMTL equations obtained through spatial expansion of the voltage and current vectors into some trial functions. Different bases lead to numerical schemes of different approximation order. In particular, the algorithm can be designed to be highly adaptive by using hierarchical (wavelet) bases. The resulting scheme allows us to perform the simulation at a low computational cost. The method is illustrated through examples of practical interest
