Abstract
By utilizing EOS/MODIS satellite remote sensing data and surface soil moisture observation data, and on the basis of topography of Liaoning Province, rainfall distribution, and the frequency of occurrence of droughts in the east and west part, it is possible to rezone the drought monitoring area, and respectively set up the drought monitoring models for different areas. As a result, the dynamic monitoring of drought is realized, and the drought monitoring accuracy is enhanced.
