Abstract
Coastline is dynamic change, required constant mapped and amended, so that the coastal zone can be scientific managed. This article researches the method of coastline extracted by the remote sensing image. Coast types are divided into rock, artificial shore, sandy shore, muddy coast. Taking the method of the modification of normalized difference Water Index (MNDWI), the first two coasts can be extracted the coastline. Employing the method of the ETM741 color composite and supervised classification by support vector machine (SVM), the latter two coasts can be extracted the coastline. The former error is 0.02%. The latter error is 0.035%. They are within the range of allowable error. Which two different types of coastline can be extracted by the two methods, it can achieve satisfactory results.
