Abstract
With the crowding of the ISM band at 2.4 GHz, further measurements are needed to better characterize and accurately model the wireless channel in a variety of user environments. This paper presents the results of indoor and outdoor experiments conducted to determine the spatial correlation between a pair of antennas. The measurements indicate that correlation drops to below 0.5 for in-room and room-hallway scenarios for interelement spacings larger than half a wavelength. Higher correlation values were observed in the outdoor transmission scenarios due to a lack of scattering in the environments explored.
