  • Abstract
This paper presents a novel control methodology for networked DC motor speed control system. A discrete-time switch system is used to model the closed-loop system with time delays and packet losses, and the stability conditions are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Based on the obtained stability conditions, a two-step controller synthesis method is proposed. The first step is to design an optimal feedback gain to guarantee the stability and control performance of the closed-loop system, and the second step is to introduce the reference input into the system to enable the networked DC motor to track reference speed. Simulation results are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approaches.
