  • Abstract
IR (impulse radio)-ultra-wideband has a characteristic of low probability of detection (LPD) and can be used as a covertness technique for tactical military communication application. Using optimal time channelized radiometer for impulse radio detection, the covertness of IR-UWB systems affected by pulses per symbol, data rate, multiple users and modulation schemes are evaluated and compared to direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) systems.
