Abstract
Sensor imperfection in control systems often limits system performance, which motivates a new control problem formulation to address the situation when sensors introduce uncertainties into control systems. Adaptive control schemes are developed for linear plants with a class of sensor uncertainties. Such an adaptive control scheme employs a fixed model reference control law for the linear plant and an adaptive compensator for the sensor uncertainty. Extensive simulation results show that the proposed adaptive control schemes significantly improve system performance
