Abstract :
A general and unified large-signal model for a current-programmed boost converter is proposed. In this model, the active switch is modelled by a current source and the diode is modelled by a voltage source. The other parts of the converter remain unchanged. The steady-state relation and small-signal transfer functions can also be derived directly from the proposed large-signal model. The steady state, small-signal and large-signal characteristics of a current-programmed boost converter are studied by both the phase-plane trajectory and the time domain analysis. Experimental prototypes are breadboarded to verify the analysis
