Abstract :
We present outage capacity analysis and results for the hybrid MIMO scheme we first proposed in. We recently analyzed and demonstrated the FER effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. We also showed that its parallel architecture allows for the tradeoff between complexity, performance and power consumption on a packet-by-packet basis. In this paper we show that despite the fact the Alamouti code (a core component of the proposed algorithm) is capacity-lossy, the overall capacity offered by the proposed scheme is comparable to the one offered by spatial multiplexing algorithms such as MMSE-VBLAST.
