Abstract :
In this paper we are comparing the greedy scheduling and an opportunistic Round Robin scheduling schemes for the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems. Here we are considering V-BLAST architecture which is practical MIMO system which is spatially multiplexing the data to be transmitted. Also we are comparing the two techniques called space time block coding (STBC) and spatial multiplexing to improve the diversity in MIMO system. For our proposed system we are implicating the spatial multiplexing to provide the higher data rates. The limitations in greedy scheduling like lack of fairness in resource allocations are overcome by the opportunistic Round Robin scheduling. In V-BLAST architecture the ZF algorithm is used for interference nulling in case of MIMO systems. Simulation results compare the fairness of different scheduling algorithms and shows that ORR is an efficient scheduling algorithm for MIMO systems.
