            Abstract : 
Plug-in based Geographic Information System (GIS) application framework is a key approach to solve the conflict between variable business requirements and complexity of the projects. This paper proposes a novel plug-in-based GIS application framework based on. NET platform, which includes the design of interface sets, the realization of a plug-in engine, and a interactive mechanism between plug-ins. The framework has been implemented with. NET. The proposed plug-in-based GIS application framework can reduce the cost of GIS development and maintenance, and enhance the flexibility of application.
