Abstract
This paper discusses a set of tools, which allow automotive control strategies to be developed in a high productivity, user-friendly environment and which accelerate the stages between algorithm design and final embedded code. With the time and effort required to develop code for low cost processors, there is considerable interest in tools, not just for automatic code generation, but for automated testing at each stage of the development cycle. However, the requirements of the automotive industry are demanding, in particular with regard to timing, synchronisation and the sheer complexity of the control strategies, which are required to meet competitive and legal requirements. A tool set, which has been developed with specific focus on the needs of automotive engineers, is described
