Abstract
Different “phantoms” with characteristics close to typical head characteristics has led to a variety of variants and to differences in measurement results. The field of the transmitting antenna and hence the associated SAR value depend on the capacitance between the transmitting and the probe antennas. In this paper, we present an approximate procedure for the calculation of this capacitance. It is based on the similarity of “phantom” form to a paraboloid and on reducing this parabolic problem to a cylindrical one. Calculation examples are presented and confirmed by measurements. The experimental study clearly shows that the results of field and SAR measurements depend on the phantom form.
