Abstract :
This paper presents the results of an analysis to forecast saturation levels for cell phones in the US and a number of European countries based on trend data from 1984 through 2004, using technology diffusion models. The authors discuss the differences among the countries and some of the contributing factors such as existing infrastructure and cultural differences. The authors conclude with some of the challenges for service providers responding to the transition issues from wireline to wireless services and integration of operations across technology domains
