Abstract :
The highway construction in China has been leading to increasingly serious problem that more and more coal is left under highway. Getting the unexploited coal as much as possible and ensuring the safety of highways at the same time becomes a subject that must be solved urgently. The paper discussed the characteristics of highway deformations which were caused by underground mining, proposed the principles which should be followed when mining protective coal pillar under highway. Base on optimizing and combining the existent methods for mining protective coal pillar, methods for safety mining of protective coal pillar under highway had been put forward in the study.
