Abstract
We propose a systematic process for designing a MIMO system with an arbitrary number of transmitting and receiving antennas, and evaluate (through simulation) the performance improvements that can be attained by employing our design. We present a general formula that can be readily used to determine the rate (i.e., the ratio of the number of symbols transmitted over the number of symbol intervals required) of systems that employ our design.
