Abstract :
Summary form only given. Increased data rate requirements of high-performance disk drives demand accurate evaluation of the dynamics of the read-write process. In this work we examine by computer simulation how aspects of the head magnetization dynamics and media motion affect the inductive write process in magnetic disk drive. We accomplish this using a model that simultaneously accounts for the head dynamics, the intaaction between the head and media moving relative to each other, and micromagnetic interactions in the media.
