Abstract
The flow field in the pipe system of pile extractor of a jack-up oil platform is simulated by solving Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations, which is closed by two equation turbulence model. Several different kinds of fluid were considered in the numerical simulation. Pressure distribution on the inner surface of the pipes and the jetting flow rate were calculated, and some flow details were shown. The design of the pile extractor of jack-up platform can be optimized by analyzing the characteristics of the flow in the pipe system.
