Abstract :
In this paper, we introduce the recently published China Ultra Wideband (UWB) standard defined in China Wireless Personal Area Networks (C-WPAN) working group for its Dual Carrier OFDM (DC-OFDM) system. The pros and cons are discussed for this DC-OFDM system with four band hopping. The requirement for the length of channel estimation symbols in C-WPAN UWB is validated by applying an enhanced Least Square (LS) channel estimation method. The requirement for the length of preambles for Carrier Frequency Offset (CFO) estimation is also discussed. The performance comparison of C-WPAN UWB with WiMedia UWB shows that CWPAN DC-OFDM system may outperform WiMedia MB-OFDM system due to its raised transmitting power (1.25dB) under four band hopping structure.
