  • Abstract
This letter presents a novel high Q resonator. The measurement of the resonator itself shows that the suggested resonator provides a higher loaded quality factor with reduced circuit area compared to the conventional hairpin resonator. The size of the miniaturization SIR resonator reduces to 25% of the size of conventional hairpin SIR resonator. The resonators are designed to operate at 10.0GHz and 9.9GHz using the conventional and novel miniaturization SIR resonator to compare the quality factor performance. The simulation shows novel resonator can achieve better performances compared with conventional hairpin resonator but with smaller size. The loaded quality factor of the novel resonator shows 215, which is better than that of the conventional resonator by 93.
