Abstract
Land salinization of Tongyu County is the one of more serious county in the western Jilin Province. In order to deeply explore the spatial and temporal distribution of land salinization, this thesis researches saline land characteristics and laws of evolution by RS and GIS technology in Tongyu County from 1989 to 2008. The result indicated that Tongyu County saline land area showed a rising trend from 1989 to 2001 with a total increase 449.3 km2. Saline land area reduced the first time in 2008, decreased 168.8 km2 compared to 2001. The number of severe saline land plaques and the average area of plaques showed a rising trend in Tongyu County from 1989 to 2001, which decreased from 2001 to 2008. Saline plaques fractal dimension showed a reducing trend from 1996 to 2008. Saline land of center of gravity transferred to southwest from 1989 to 1992 and transferred to east from 2001 to 2008.
