`Zhou Yi´ and `Tai Xuan´ are two classic Chinese books, respectively containing two symbolic systems, Gua and Shou. Gua was judged by G.W. Leibniz to be a binary scale. It is claimed that Shou is a ternary digital symbolic system, and proofs demonstrating this are given
