Abstract
A synthetic circuit is used to measure and research 35 kV exposed shield-type vacuum interrupters with cup axial magnetic field-type electrodes. Experimental results show that there is a limitation of the best separation for 35 kV vacuum interrupters. In this range, the probability of reignition is lower and the post arc withstand-voltage is higher. This paper analyzes the experimental results and points out that it is necessary to reduce the contact spacing of vacuum interrupters and vacuum circuit breakers
