Abstract
This paper details a simple compensation method for measuring radiation patterns in the HF band. Measured patterns have ripples of several decibels that are not a product of the antenna but rather radiation from the feed cable, as suggested from computer simulation. By assuming the feed cable is an independent vertically polarized radiator and making a third measurement, these ripples from both vertically and horizontally polarized patterns can be partially removed.
