Abstract :
This paper presents a novel compact CPW-fed UWB planar antenna with L-shaped extended ground plane stubs. With the stubs, the antenna can produce a resonance at low frequency and obtain improved impedance match at high frequency. The proposed antenna has been fabricated and tested in an anechoic chamber. The measured result of return loss shows a -10dB bandwidth ranging from 3.1 to 13.2GHz with a quasi-omnidirectional radiation patterns. Simulation and measured results agreed well with each other. With the superiorities of compact size, a monolayer configuration without any back ground plane, and ultra-wideband, the proposed antenna can be used in a wide range of UWB applications.
