Abstract :
Due to manufacturing imperfectness of mechanical parts, the rotor eccentricity is unavoidable, which has considerable effect on motor´s characteristics. Eccentricity is one of the common reasons, which creates most of the mechanical faults and leads to motor vibration. This paper describe a 28 pole axial flux permanent magnet motor (AFPM) with concentrated stator winding under static eccentricity. The AFPM is modeled using three-dimensional finite-element method. This model includes all geometrical and physical characteristics of the machine components and non-uniform air gap. Use of this accurate modeling makes it possible to obtain the demanded signals for a very high precision analysis. It concludes that Static eccentricity has noticeable effects on motor characteristics.
