Abstract :
One important aspect of TOD development evaluation is the evaluation of the adjacent region built environment, which is also a key component in understanding and evaluating the walkability of a region. By utilizing GIS-based measures, the built environment of Wulin Commerce Center has been evaluated in visualization and quantifying mode in order to understand the walkable quality of this region. These indicators are related to land use, access, and multi-modal system performance. The evaluation shows that there is a difference on built environment between Wulin Commerce Center region and high-quality urban space. Based on the evaluation, some policy and planning proposals are offered to convert this region to more walkable TOD urban space.
