Abstract :
Design of a seven-element hexagonal array based on a simply-fed spiral-helix element is discussed. The measurement of a single element with array factor study and the full-wave modeling are used to assess the performance of the proposed array. In addition to the good frequency-domain characteristics, the time-domain behavior of the proposed array is shown to be excellent; thus its ability to radiate short pulses without any distortion and high efficiency is demonstrated.
