Abstract
This paper proposes a new low cost algorithm for searching the minimum bit rate wavelet-packet representation to encode high quality general audio in a perceptual sense. Our study proposes the use of a particular family of wavelets, and the adaptive choice of the corresponding filters´ length, according to the proposed cost function and the input audio file being encoded.
