  • Abstract
An algorithmic and nonalgorithmic based automatic contingency analysis and classification (ACAC) method with physical analysis and emergency classification for power system security assessment is presented in this paper. The classification depends on a function which can describe the degree of system emergency in three dimensions. ACAC can minimize the number of missing harmful contingencies efficiently and gives accurate output in a condensed form
